Food fetish anyone? What food are you obsessed with? Do you remember your favorite foods as a kid? My dad used to tell me I was going to turn into a noodle. I would boil egg noodles in as little water as possible so it became thick with starch and I’d eat it all. He also told me my eyes were bigger than my stomach. I remember when I went from hating Lima beans to loving them. Poof! How does that happen? l loved food! I still do. And noodles are at the top of the list.

The characters in The Beautiful Abyss sure have some favorites and they are pretty telling. You’ll have to find out for yourself what’s going on with the egg yolk when my book hits the shelves. (Soooooon!!!) But now, I will tell you everyone’s favorite meal.

Niki: Ramen with raw egg and wakame

Thof: Steak tartar with raw egg and champagne

Selena: Braised lamb with feta salad (the greens from her own garden)

Costa: Anything his mother, Selena, cooks! But he pretty much survives on souvlaki in pita with extra tzatziki from the shop on the corner.

Brielle: Caviar and a martini

Ugo: Chipita potato chips which give him bad breath
